Morecambe Parish Church

There's been a church in this vicinity since the mid 18th century.  Before that the local inhabitants had to make the long trek to Lancaster.

The original church at Poulton stood north of the present building (just beyond the cemetery in the picture to the right).

The old building was a fairly primitive affair compared to the present church.

In 1840 a new stone built church was constructed south of the old building.  This is the building which stands today.
