Marking out the beds

On the 5/9/2006 we started marking out the beds on the on the tarmac.

First this was done in chalk then painted over once we'd got the measurements right.

Right: The main entrance.  There'll be two beds in the foreground on either side of the entrance.  You can see in the background, here occupied by a birdbath, the site of the central water feature.

Left: This area will be an improved plant sale area.  The sale area is seen here on the ground.  Beds will surround a new elevated sales bench.

Below: The interior of the Secret Garden.  The path (bottom left) leads to one of the chamomile seats, while the bed (centre left) will contain a small sensory garden.  The site of the formal pond can just be seen in the background.

Right: The bed in the foreground which will make up the sensory garden.  One of the small chamomile seats can be seen (bottom left).  The marked area above the sensory garden is reserved for a new table and seating area.

Below: The new plant sale area.

Left: Plant sale area close up.

Below: The site for the new perimeter beds.  The right angle seen in the foreground will contain another seating area.
